Happy Fall, Reader, While the weather has been so beautiful here in Connecticut, this fall hurricane season has been so sad and traumatic for so many Americans and their loved ones. While we can't completely avoid stress, we can look to herbal preparations to support us through challenging times. During this past month's perimenopause group coaching program, Awaken Resilience, we talked about adaptogenic herbs--like ashwagandha--and spent a lot of time learning about how great these herbs are for supporting the nervous system and building resilience. Adaptogens have a normalizing effect to counteract or ease the effects of stress!! One of my favorite adaptogens is ashwagandha. This ancient Ayurvedic herb is slightly energizing, while also calming. You can use it in many forms, including powdered, capsules or e. Today I'm sharing a basic ashwagandha tea that you can adapt to your liking. Feel free to experiment with the recipe by adding other warming spices and herbs, or even other adaptogens such as the mushroom, reishi. You can use the milk and sweetener of your choice. I prefer to drink this tea in the early evening, but it's yummy any time of day! Click below to access the FREE recipe:I'd love to see pics of your tea! Follow and tag me on Instagram @themotherhive so I can see your beautiful creations!

Hello Reader, As the light slowly returns, I’ve been thinking a lot about how renewal actually works—especially in midlife. Even though we are still dealing with the extreme cold and the after-effects of the recent snow storm, technically, the light is returning! This week’s blog post explores Imbolc as a reminder that resilience is built quietly, through warmth, slowing down, and small acts of care.
